SDR, PN, and wall thickness — the numbers a take-off is built on.

On PE100 pipe carrying water at 20 °C, SDR 11 is rated PN 16 and SDR 17 is rated PN 10. The tables below cover the full SDR ladder and the standard wall thicknesses for the two classes that do most Kuwait utility work.

The rating follows one formula: PN = 2 × MRS ÷ (C × (SDR − 1)), with MRS 10 MPa for PE100 and design coefficient C = 1.25 for water.

Ratings are for PE100 on water at 20 °C. The same SDR 11 pipe is PN 12.5 in PE80, and gas networks to ISO 4437 use a higher design coefficient — never transfer PN numbers from a water chart to a gas scope.

Wall thickness by size, SDR 17 and SDR 11

Standard minimum walls to ISO 4427 for the two classes that cover most Kuwait water and utility work. Sizes below 110 mm ship in coils; 110 mm and above come as 12-metre sticks.

01Do you supply HDPE pipes and electrofusion fittings in Kuwait?

Yes. We supply PE100 HDPE pipes, electrofusion fittings, butt fusion fittings, fabricated fittings, and compatible fusion equipment for water, sewage, gas, irrigation, and industrial networks.

02Can HDPE pipe be used for seawater and brine lines in Kuwait?

Yes. PE100 does not corrode in seawater or brine, so it is the standard material for cooling-water intake and outfall lines, desalination brine discharge, and TSE networks in Kuwait. Specify the SDR from the operating pressure and the summer temperature — SDR 11 is rated 16 bar at 20 °C but 11.5 bar at 40 °C — and joint by butt fusion along the run with electrofusion couplers at tie-ins, so the only flanges and gaskets in the seawater are at the equipment.
