Electrofusion fitting size table — what we supply in Kuwait.

ELOFIT electrofusion couplers in Kuwait run from 20 mm to 1000 mm: the EME PN16 coupler covers the whole range, the DME PN10 coupler starts at 90 mm, the GME PN25 coupler stops at 630 mm and the FME sewage coupler runs 110 to 1000 mm. Elbows, tees and end caps cover 20 to 315 mm, tapping tees sit on 40 to 315 mm mains, and repair saddles reach 1000 mm. Quote the pipe OD and SDR for each line and we match the fitting code, then the welding unit to the largest size on the job.

Three decisions per joint, then the fitting schedule — and the quote follows.

Most electrofusion enquiries in Kuwait resolve into three either/or choices per connection. This is how our team works through a fitting list when it arrives, and what we need from you to price it.

  1. Decision 1 · Joint

    Coupler or tapping tee?

ELOFIT electrofusion coupler and moulded elbow on PE100 pipe
    DefaultCouplerEME 20–1000 mm, PN16

Pipe-to-pipe joints, tie-ins between fixed ends, repairs and coil-to-coil connections where the pipe ends meet in the trench.

ELOFIT electrofusion tapping tees and branch saddles
Tapping tee or saddleEPRES on 40–315 mm mains

Service connections and branches off a live main — drilled under pressure, with gas-stop and pressure-valve versions for gas scopes.

Repair saddles (ERIP) cover 75–1000 mm for a damaged wall without cutting the main; balloon saddles let you stop the line for the work.

  2. Decision 2 · Process

    Electrofusion or butt fusion?

Electrofusion welding unit connected to an HDPE coupler in the trench
    DefaultElectrofusion20–1000 mm, logged cycle

Constrained trenches, tie-ins between fixed ends, repairs, fittings below 315 mm, and any joint the specification wants recorded with a barcode and weld log.

HDPE butt fusion machine with clamps and heater plate
Butt fusionSpigot fittings; machines 40–1000 mm

Long straight runs from 110 mm welded pipe-to-pipe on the machine, and moulded spigot elbows, tees and stub ends — see the butt fusion fittings page.

Both processes join the same PE100 pipe, and in both the fitting SDR must match the pipe SDR.

  3. Decision 3 · Termination

Threaded transition or stub end and flange?

PE to brass threaded electrofusion transition fitting
    PE-to-metal transition20×½″ – 125×4″ threaded; 20×18 – 315×300 plain

Meters, brass valves, building services and steel pipe up to 315 mm — the transition electrofuses to the PE and threads or butt-welds to the metal.

PE stub end with backing flange for a valve connection
    DefaultStub end and flange25–1000 mm, PN10 / PN16 flanges

Valves, pumps, chambers and larger mains — a fused stub end with an aluminium, epoxy-coated or galvanized backing flange and gasket.

Flanges and gaskets run 25–1000 mm in PN10 and PN16; reinforced gaskets 50–500 mm.

PE100 SDR 11 PN16 HDPE pipes stacked in a Kuwait yard

Match the coupler to the pipe SDR

SDR 11 pipe takes the PN16 coupler (EME); SDR 17 pipe takes the PN10 coupler (DME, from 90 mm). A PN16 coupler welds onto SDR 17 pipe without trouble, but the line is still rated PN10 — the pipe governs.

Electrofusion tapping tee with excess-flow gas-stop valve

Gas scopes are a different chart

Gas fittings are rated to UNI EN 1555-3, not the water PN table. Gas-stop tapping tees (EPRESR 35 mbar, EPRESB 100 mbar, EPRESG 1–5 bar) shut the service automatically on a downstream break; ESTL PE valves in 20–40 mm isolate it.

Size the welding unit to the biggest joint

E8500 to 315 mm, E9001 to 630 mm, E9001HW to 1000 mm. Scrapers, aligners and cutters follow the same size bands — and the revolving scraper is not optional: unscraped oxide is the first cause of a failed electrofusion joint.

01Do you supply electrofusion fittings in Kuwait?

Yes. We supply the ELOFIT electrofusion range in Kuwait: couplers from 20 to 1000 mm, reducing couplers, end caps, elbows, equal and reducing tees, tapping tees, branch, repair, balloon and meter saddles, PE-to-brass and PE-to-steel transitions, PE valves, and the welding units and tooling — quoted as one package from your fitting schedule.

02What sizes do electrofusion couplers cover?

20 to 1000 mm. The EME PN16 coupler covers the whole range; the DME PN10 coupler runs 90–1000 mm for SDR 17 mains; the GME PN25 coupler runs 20–630 mm; the FME sewage coupler 110–1000 mm; and the long coupler EMEL 32–75 mm for repairs. Elbows, tees and end caps cover 20–315 mm.

03Which electrofusion fittings are used for gas networks?

Fittings rated to UNI EN 1555-3: the same couplers and tees, plus gas-stop tapping tees that close automatically on a downstream break — EPRESR for 35 mbar, EPRESB for 100 mbar and EPRESG for 1–5 bar networks — and ESTL PE valves in 20–40 mm. Gas-coded fittings are supplied against the operator's or consultant's approval where required.

04Electrofusion or butt fusion — which should I specify?

Electrofusion for constrained trenches, tie-ins between fixed pipe ends, repairs, service connections and fittings below 315 mm, and wherever the specification wants a barcode-driven, logged joint. Butt fusion for long straight runs from 110 mm welded pipe-to-pipe and for moulded spigot fittings on larger mains. Most Kuwait networks use both: butt fusion along the run, electrofusion at the connections.

05Can I connect HDPE to steel, brass or copper?

Yes. PE-to-brass threaded transitions cover 20×½″ to 125×4″, PE-to-steel threaded 25×¾″ to 125×4″, PE-to-steel plain (weld end) 20×18 to 315×300 mm, PE-to-cast-iron three-piece unions 25×¾″ to 125×4″, and PE-to-copper compression fittings 25×18 to 32×28 mm. Above those sizes, use a stub end with a PN10 or PN16 backing flange.

06What standards and approvals do ELOFIT fittings carry?

They are injection-moulded PE100 to UNI EN 12201-3 for water, UNI EN 1555-3 for gaseous fuels and UNI EN ISO 15494 for industrial piping, in PN10, PN16, PN20 and PN25. ELOFIT is Kiwa-certified, and the brochure shows DVGW, WRAS and FM Approved marks among its approvals, with an EPD to ISO 14025 and EN 15804. Certificates are supplied for the submittal on request.

07Which electrofusion welding unit do I need?

It depends on the largest fitting on the job: E8500 for 20–315 mm, E9001 for 20–630 mm, E9001HW for 20–1000 mm, and the SMARTWELD units for 20–400 mm. All read the fitting barcode and record the weld cycle. Pair the unit with a revolving scraper (RAT, 75–400 mm; RATOR, 20–180 mm), an aligner and a pipe cutter for the same size band.

08Can you quote from a fitting schedule?

Yes. Send the pipe OD and SDR for each line, the fitting list with quantities, the medium and operating temperature, any threaded or flanged terminations, whether a welding unit is needed, and the delivery area in Kuwait, and we return a line-priced offer with ELOFIT codes within 24–48 hours.
